Night at the South Grey Museum
Saturday May 22nd 2010
7-11pm
A
unique and fun family event will be taking place at the South Grey Museum this
May long weekend! Come out to the Museum the night of Saturday May 22nd
to discover the night.
Activities will
include storytelling, crafts and a showing of the Hollywood film Night at the
Museum. We will also be learning about local nocturnal animals such as
owls! We’ll be dissecting owl pellets to discover just exactly what owls eat.
Curator of the
South Grey Museum, Sarah Redmond says, “Owl pellets are the regurgitated parts
of small animals that owls can’t digest. It may sound gross, but it’s
completely sanitary, interesting and such a fun way to learn about our local owl
populations. We’ll be hoping for a clear sky that night, as members of the
Bruce County Astronomical Society will be guiding us on a tour of the night sky
after dark. We might even be partaking in some coyote calling as well!”
The film showing
may be outside in the pavilion, so bring a lawn chair and dress for the weather.
Tickets for this
event are $12/adults and $10/children and seniors.
The uniqueness of
this event is sure to make it a sold-out event – get in touch early to reserve
your tickets.
