Out of the Cabinet: Celebrating Your Collections

Tuesday, 01 February 2011- Monday, 07 February 2011

The Museum is celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary during 2011 and we’d like to encourage the community to join us in the celebrations. Almost everyone is a curator in some way, almost everyone collects something! So, since we’re celebrating our 50 year old collection, we’d like to help you celebrate your collection(s). We’re offering you the opportunity to put your own collection on display for a week so that visitors can enjoy it just as much as you do.Exhibitors will be asked to pay a small fee to help offset costs: $20 per adult, $5 per student.Visitors will be welcome to come look through the exhibit and while there, tell us which collection they enjoyed the most. Using these numbers the Museum will then have the top 10 exhibitors display their collection for 1 month each, at the Museum during the remainder of the year.

Exhibit Dates:

Set up: Sunday, January 30, 2011, 12:00 - 4:00 pm

            Monday, January 31, 2011, 4:30 - 7:30 pm

Opening Reception: Wednesday, February 2, 2010, 5:00 - 7:00 pm

Exhibit Open: Tuesday February 1st – Monday, February 7th, 2011

Take Down: Monday, February 7, 2010, 4:30 - 7:30pm

Hours: Open Meaford Hall hours

We truly believe this exhibit will be a lot of fun. What do you collect? Stamps, old compasses, figurines out of the Tetley tea boxes, dolls, coins? The sky is the limit, nothing is too wacky or weird!-
