New to Contra Dancing Beginners are welcome at all Fiddlefern dances - No partner needed. Contra dancing is a walking step so no fancy footwork to be learned. All music is live (jigs & reels). All dances walked through before the dance. We hold Contra Dances the first Saturday of the month from September through June. Please check our Schedule for details. This site is updated regularly. For out of town dances, please follow the "Dance Community Links" to the right. We dance at St. Georges Church Hall in Owen Sound. It's on 10th Street East where we hold our Annual Spring Fling. This beautiful tale is a modern children's classic, in which a stuffed toy rabbit learns what it means to be REAL. A splendid dramatic adaptation portrays a young child's world of special toys, played by one superb actor and a cast of kids you may know! "When a child loves you for a long time, not just to play with, but really loves you, then you become REAL", explains the Skin Horse in the story. The presentation is an excellent introduction to the world of theatre, with some of the roles played by children themselves! With a one-hour rehearsal, and a new set of participants for each performance, the children are let in on the secret that will make them look like they've been practicing for weeks! For those children interested in participating please call 519.538.1060 ext.1203. Presented by Meaford Hall
