other Waterfront, and Cottage Retreat Locations in the Collingwood,

Blue Mountain, and Beaver Valley areas
Canoeing in the
area:
For more info see www.ontarioguides.com
Time: 5-6 hours
Distance: 20 km
The route begins north of Kimberly, with access from the Beaver Access
Point off Grey County Road 13. Several views of the Niagara Escarpment and
surrounding countryside are provided before the river enters a large
wooded area of predominantly silver maple. You should see lots of wildlife and we have no idea how the fishing
is.
Short portages may be required to bypass
log jams. Care should be taken to avoid poison ivy and stinging nettle as
both occur in the area. The route passes through progressively more open
farmland in the downstream sections before reaching Heathcote. Canoeing
downstream from Heathcote is not recommended.
